Shooting in Cherkassy
According to the Cherkasy Oblast Police, the shooting occurred on January 25 at about 9:00 p.m. near a park on Pobedy Avenue.
Eyewitnesses reported the shooting to the police. Based on the description provided by the witnesses, the perpetrator was found and detained by police near the scene of the crime.

According to the police, the shooting was preceded by a conflict between the detainee and a woman and a man who were standing at a public transport stop.

However, the 53-year-old man decided to settle the conflict with a weapon. He shot a 23-year-old man and hit a 35-year-old woman in the head with the handle of a pistol.
Both victims were hospitalized by ambulance medics.
The man was detained in accordance with the procedural procedure and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In the future, they want to declare the man a suspect and choose a preventive measure.
As noted by the police, he faces from three to seven years in prison. The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing.
By the way, on November 23, 2024 a shooting occurred in the Sky Loft hotel in Kyiv. As a result of the incident, a 27-year-old man died. Then the police detained one of the participants in the brawl – a 29-year-old resident of Dnipro.
At the beginning of January this year, it became known that three new suspects had appeared in the case.
