There was shooting near the presidential palace in the capital of Chad, N'Djamena. Military equipment was moving towards the palace. The media writes that Boko Haram militants decided to carry out an armed attack. As a result of the shooting, there are dead and wounded.

Armed attack in N'Djamena

On the evening of January 8, armed men attacked the inside of the presidential palace in the capital of Chad. Local authorities initially did not officially comment on the situation, but residents reported that the attackers used military equipment.

Later, one of the officials said that the situation was under control.

The shooters are likely to be militants from the radical Islamist group Boko Haram. Chadian troops were able to repel the attack.

An AFP correspondent reported that all roads leading to the residence of the head of state were blocked, and tanks could be seen on the streets.
