Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced a new trip to the occupied territories of Ukraine. This was probably the answer to the leader of the PIK “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin, with whom Shoigu is in conflict.
Shoigu's visit could be in response to recent footage of Prigozhin visiting his fighters on the front lines. This is stated in the British intelligence report.
Conflict between Shoigu and Prigozhin
The Wagner PPK is indeed in a loud conflict with the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is noted that, probably, Shoigu is painfully compared to Prigogine.
They also noticed that the only Russian field commander shown in the video was Colonel General Rustam Muradov. The occupier is responsible for the Ugledarsky sector of the Donetsk region, where several assaults have not been successful over the past three months.
What is known about Shoigu's trip
On March 4, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Shoigu's trip to the front. They assured that he allegedly was in the occupied territories of Ukraine. However, doubts arose whether this action really took place.
The fact is that Shoigu was shown on board the helicopter, then on the street of the settlement and already indoors. Therefore, it is impossible to say where and when exactly the video was filmed.
On March 7, it was reported that Shoigu visited the temporarily occupied Mariupol to allegedly check “the restoration of the infrastructure of Donbass.” However, there is another version. It is assumed that Shoigu does not trust the chief of the general staff and the commander of the invaders Valery Gerasimov and certain generals in this direction. Some of them may support Prigozhin.
