Sanctions against Belarus

The EU has tightened sanctions against Belarus to avoid circumvention of restrictions. They are aimed at various sectors of the Belarusian economy – trade, services and transport.

Thus, the EU Council continues to ban the export of dual-use and advanced technologies, and also introduces additional sanctions on the export of goods that could help strengthen Belarusian industrial potential. In addition, the EU prohibits the transit of these goods through Belarus.

Thus, there is a ban on the import and purchase of gold and diamonds from Belarus, as well as helium, coal and mineral resources, including crude oil.

The sanctions provide for a ban on the provision of certain services to Belarus, the government of the country, corporations, government agencies, or any individual or legal entity acting on their behalf or at their direction.

We are talking, in particular, about accounting, architectural and engineering services, advertising and marketing research services, sociology, product testing and technical control.
