Shelling of Ukraine
On Sunday, July 28, Russian occupiers launched a missile attack on Kharkov.
According to Dmitry Chubenko, a representative of the Kharkov regional prosecutor's office, Russian troops launched two missile attacks on the Slobodsky district of the city of Kharkov and hit one of the district's transport enterprises.
— It has been preliminarily established that type X missiles were used for the shelling — probably an X-35 or X-59, — the speaker said.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the explosion.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of a war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code — violation of the laws and customs of war.
Also, the Russian military fired at the village of Kamyshany in the Kherson region.
As reported by the head of the Kherson city military administration, Roman Mrochko, eight people were injured. Three of them — children.
17-year-old boy turned to doctors for help on his own.
10-year-old Veronica, 16-year-old Maxim and their mother were taken to the hospital by grandfather Nikolai Kulish in his own car.
The man handed over his relatives to the doctors, who were just rushing towards them.
— I waved my hand, they drove under the trees, quickly performed resuscitation measures, and put on an IV. Then another ambulance arrived. So they took them, — the man told reporters, wiping away tears.
Strike on an oil depot near Kursk
At night, July 28, drones attacked the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
The Polevaya oil depot in the village of the same name in the Kursk region was hit.
Locals claim that they first heard a sound typical of a drone, and then several powerful explosions in the area of the Polevaya oil depot.
Heavy smoke began immediately after that.
Acting Governor of Kursk Oblast Alexey Smirnov responded to the night “bang” only seven hours later. According to him, none of the workers at the plant were hurt.
Erdogan slapped a boy
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slapped a boy who came up to greet him but did not kiss his hand.
The incident occurred during the opening ceremony of the Ayder Plateau Protection and Renewal Project.

According to intelligence, it was created in 2019 by then-Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The company was likely used by corrupt Russian officials to enrich themselves.
In addition, on July 23, a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the former director of the Zvezda-Strela tactical missile plant to prison for embezzlement and price gouging.

Zelensky stressed that he cannot respond to calls for a ceasefire while Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory.
The President said that Kyiv would begin detailed discussions with the relevant countries on territorial integrity and other issues. He said he would create a peace action plan by the end of November.

Yelenovka tragedy anniversary
On the second anniversary of the Yelenovka terrorist attack, Azov commander Denis Prokopenko, under the pseudonym Redis, expressed concern over the prolonged captivity of the Azov soldiers and the failure to fulfill the prisoner exchange terms.
Prokopenko noted the cruelty of the Russian side, which led to the murder of 53 unarmed Azovites in Elenovka and the wounding of others.
— On the day when the whole country bows its heads before the Azovites killed in Elenovka, only one question haunts me: did other guarantors of preserving the lives of the personnel of the Mariupol garrison make every effort, work out all possible options and use the necessary levers of influence on the Russians so that the exchanges promised 3-4 months after leaving Azovstal would take place?, — he wrote on his Facebook.
The Azov commander raised the issue of the effectiveness of measures for the exchange of prisoners and compliance with guarantees for the preservation of the lives of military personnel.
On July 28, memorial events for those killed during the terrorist attack in Elenovka were held in various cities of Ukraine.
