Not everyone Ukraine had the courage to continue its work after Russian troops broke into our territory. But there are those who nevertheless remained faithful to the oath.

An example of such devotion was given in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They told the story of Senior Lieutenant Olga Sidorenko. She is the investigative department of the investigation of especially serious crimes of the police of the Kyiv region.

Already on February 16, the police in Ukraine were transferred to a reinforced version of service. This happened after on February 14, Russian deputies turned to their dictator Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions previously occupied by Russia. In addition, by that time Russia had amassed a large army near the borders of Ukraine, citing joint training with Belarus. But even after studying, she did not take her soldiers away from there.

On February 17, Olga Sidorenko received a court order to conduct investigative actions in the Luhansk region. Since she was the head of the group in this criminal proceeding, she decided to go there herself. The only date you can go is February 22. It was then the birthday of her son, whom she is raising on her own.

Despite the request of the child not to go, Olga Sidorenko still went to the Luhansk region – to Svatovo. On February 23, she conducted investigative actions. She was supposed to return home on February 24th. But we managed to change the ticket for the evening of February 23.

When I was already at the station, I received a message about the gathering of colleagues who were supposed to arrive at the duty station.

She says that at that time there was a fear of whether she would be able to get home. Indeed, there were many residents of the Luhansk region on the train who began to receive messages from their relatives and friends about the intensification of hostilities in the region. Her son at that time was with her mother near Boryspil.

On the way, the train stopped. Then Russia launched a full-scale military invasion. Therefore, she returned home under shelling and bombardment by the aggressor. For 10 hours, her train stood in the middle of the field, and enemy planes flew overhead.

But they managed to get to Kyiv. True, with a long delay.

Already on February 25, Olga Sidorenko was again in the service. Although then there were problems with travel to work, because public transport did not run. It took several hours to do this. At that time, my seven-year-old son was in the Boryspil district.

She will continue to serve in the Kyiv police.
