The football club Shakhtar became the champion of Ukraine in football in the 2023/24 season following the results of the match with Dynamo Kyiv. It ended with a score of 1:0.

Shakhtar managed to open the scoring in the match. First, referee Alexey Derevinsky recorded a simulation on the part of midfielder Georgy Sudakov in the Kiev penalty area.
After watching VAR, he gave a penalty for handball by Kiev defender Konstantin Vivcharenko, which was converted by Georgy Sudakov.

Thanks to Shakhtar's victory in the UPL, the team will be able to take part in the playoff round of the Champions League in the 2024/25 season.
