A Ukrainian serviceman, commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after General-Ensign Mark Bezruchko, Colonel Sergei Zakharevich, was killed.
Zakharevich's death was reported by the soldier's wife Oksana and Ukrainian general Sergei Sobko.

According to the general, Mattis said that there are two traits that he values most in leaders: aggressiveness and initiative.
In his opinion, this was specifically about Zakharevich, because it is impossible to recall a more striking example of an officer with these two qualities.
Sergei Zakharevich was appointed commander of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade in February 2025.
Before that, he was deputy commander of the 33rd separate mechanized brigade, served in the 30th separate mechanized brigade and the 1st separate tank brigade.
