Donald Trump's $3.3 trillion tax and spending cuts bill passed the U.S. Senate on Tuesday.

Bloomberg reports this.

Senate Passes Trump Tax Bill

Senators voted 51-50 to pass the bill, with three Republicans — Susan Collins of Maine, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Rand Paul of Kentucky — opposing the bill. Vice President J.D. Vance cast the tie-breaking vote.

The package, now headed to the House, combines $4.5 trillion in tax cuts with $1.2 trillion in spending cuts.

Trump personally lobbied lawmakers to quickly push the bill, informally known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, through Congress.

Republicans say passing the bill would help them maintain their majority in Congress in the 2026 midterm elections. But polls show the bill is not particularly popular. A recent Pew Research poll found that 49% of Americans oppose the bill, while 29% support it. About 21% are undecided.

Actions of the House of Representatives

The House is expected to vote on Trump's bill this week, but success is not guaranteed. Speaker Mike Johnson said the House will work quickly to pass the bill by July 4.
