When the Russian military were still in the Kyiv region, they massively robbed the houses of civilians there. However, the invaders probably saw some things familiar to Ukrainians for the first time.
For example, the Russian military stole only the upper part of an electric kettle without a stand with a cable. Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Rostislav Smirnov told Channel 24 about this.
“You can evaluate the level of these people who do not know what an electric kettle is. They took it away without a stand, because they did not even know how to use it,” said the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to Smirnov, a significant part of the warring against Ukraine, the occupiers are the military from the poorest regions of Russia. Participation in the so-called “special operation” is a chance for them to earn money.
This was one of the reasons why in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian cities and villages, cases of looting by Russian soldiers were a common occurrence.
We know hundreds of stories about washing machines, electric kettles. The level of these people and their motivation is zero. I have never heard from them that they really “release” someone here, – said the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As Smirnov noted, even before the start of a full-scale war, the Russian military could really think that they were going to “liberate” someone in Ukraine. This was the result of the work of continuous propaganda.
“However, now they (the occupiers – Channel 24) certainly do not have these doubts, just as there is no motivation,” the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added. Ukraine: latest news
- On May 18, Russian invaders robbed the premises of the State Consumer Service in the Kherson region. They stole a large amount of equipment.
- In the beginning of May, Russians stole almost 400,000 hryvnias from an ATM in Rhoda in Zaporozhye. It was placed in a store, which was partially destroyed during the shelling.
- The invaders robbed the house where people's deputy Roman Kostenko used to live. The reason was his uniform of an SBU colonel, which they discovered.
- In the temporarily occupied Melitopol in Zaporozhye, the invaders opened a Russian “supermarket” . However, the invaders simply stole a lot of goods from the Ukrainian store and now they are making money selling them.
