In Chisinau, the Information and Security Service (ISS) of Moldova, together with the prosecutor's office for combating organized crime (PCCOCS), conducted searches in the building of the Moldovan parliament, journalists reported, citing the press secretary.

Daniela Minzat did not explain due to what kind of case are the searches taking place. However, according to the publication's sources, they are talking about an investigation into a case of espionage against the head of the legal department of the parliament of Moldova, Ion Creange.

The sources said that the Moldovan official was caught red-handed – when he was passing information to employees of the Russian embassy in Chisinau.

The NewsMaker publication, citing sources, said that the searches are related to the investigation into a case of treason.

By the way, in early June, journalists wrote that the former head of the General Staff of Moldova, Igor Gorgan, could have worked for the Russian GRU over the past 20 years. In particular, he could have been an informant for the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate.
