German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has communicated with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the past, and is ready to do so in the future, however, subject to the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
He stated this in an interview with Heilbronner Stimme.
– Putin planned his campaign to conquer the country within two weeks. It didn't work. But Ukraine also conquered many territories. Russia must be forced to take a step back, Scholz emphasized.
That is, as the Chancellor noted, negotiations require a “decisive step from Russia” – the withdrawal of troops.
