German Chancellor Olaf Scholz believes that only Ukraine can decide when the time comes for Russia to participate in peace negotiations.
He stated this at a press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Berlin on Tuesday, June 11.

The Chancellor noted that these would not be negotiations to end the war, because for this, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would have to understand that he is ready to end his “military campaign and withdraw his troops.”

According to him, as long as Russia continues the war, partners will not weaken their support for Ukraine.
Scholz also noted that Ukraine is fighting the aggressor and at the same time building its European future. Restoration will be a huge task that will require incredible funds, and without private — indispensable.
The Peace Summit will take place on June 15 and 16 at the five-star Bürgenstock Hotel in Lucerne in central Switzerland.
