Ukrainian defenders in Germany are trained to work with Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery mounts. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited the military on August 25.
The Chancellor arrived at the Putlosa training ground in Schleswig-Holstein. He promised Ukraine military assistance.
“Germany wants to help provide soldiers with the optimal support they need. Germany provides modern and effective weapons because Ukraine has the right to defend its country, integrity, independence and sovereignty,” the Chancellor said.
Which weapon Scholz promised
According to Scholz, the Gepard installation has powerful capabilities. It effectively protects against air attacks.
The Chancellor assured that Germany will provide Ukraine with heavy weapons systems. We are talking about self-propelled howitzers, multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, Scholz promised the IRIS-T air defense system, which is capable of “defending the airspace of an entire city.”

< p dir="ltr">The German Ministry of Defense has stated that it will not increase the amount of heavy weapons for Ukraine. At the same time, Scholz assures that he will not stop helping.
“We understand the possibility of further escalation, so we make an important promise: we will continue to support Ukraine with further arms supplies,” Scholz concluded .
