German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is not ready to negotiate a just peace. This is a signal that the country's position is gradually changing.
The discussion about Scholz has been going on since the spring of last year. This was told to Channel 24 by a political and economic expert, head of the Center for Public Analytics “Tower” Valery Klochok.
Support will continue
In recent months, a political expert has emphasized that Germany will help Ukraine, because the rhetoric is changing very significantly. The only problem, says Klochok, was that Germany was not politically prepared to publicly support Ukraine. There was also no social readiness, because the mood of the population is rather blurred. There is no total support for the government's policy of military assistance to Ukraine.
Now we can talk about 50 to 50, but pro-Russian sentiments are quite strong, this is Germany's own mistake. It tolerates Kremlin narratives in society, and there is also no normal information policy,โ Klochok claims.
This is being reviewed now. In addition, after a visit to Ukraine, Frank-Walter Steinmeier made a statement that Germany would not be a friend of Russia in the near future. That is, Russia is an enemy for the country.
Scholz is simply handsome, I speak frankly. I welcome his position. He managed to break the Germans in the government and the political environment that aid to Ukraine should come. Today we have a decision on the transfer of tanks. This is a serious thing, the analyst notes.
Yes, at present Germany is categorically against the supply of aircraft to Ukraine, but this is also temporary. In the future, Klochok is convinced, the country will change its position. It supplies Ukraine with more weapons from the countries of the European Union. Credit must be given to the United States and Great Britain, who worked with Germany.
The main thing is that Germany – the country with the most powerful economy in Europe – has become a leader. Armament comes systemically. This is very revealing, – says Valery Klochok.
Scholz is currently on an official visit to the United States. According to the political expert, we will hear appropriate statements that support will continue. “At least now it sounds that the European Union has made all the formal decisions to transfer the necessary ammunition to Ukraine,” he stressed.
When will Gepard IRIS-T from Germany arrive in Ukraine?

- The chancellor noted that our state will receive new Gepard and IRIS-T in the coming weeks. He also stressed that Germany would continue to consistently provide military assistance to Ukraine.
- Scholz said that Germany is also working to provide the Armed Forces with ammunition. In addition, the chancellor addressed critics of arms transfers, saying that his government never takes decisions on military assistance lightly.
