Olaf Scholz believes that an embargo on Russian oil will not end the war. But this will only aggravate the economic situation in Europe.

According to Scholz, Germany wants to avoid an economic crisis. The German chancellor said this in an interview with Spiegel on April 22.

I don't see the gas embargo putting an end to the war at all. If Putin had been open to economic arguments, he would never have started this insane war, Scholz said.

The restriction on Russian oil “would have a serious impact on financing the reconstruction of Ukraine.” Therefore, Scholz notes that this cannot be allowed.
