German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has admitted to having a few “old-fashioned” habits. The politician still watches tube TV and carries documents in one briefcase for 40 years.

According to journalists, this issue was raised the other day at an SPD election rally in Dresden during a discussion of the transition to electric vehicles. TV

A trade unionist from Volkswagen Zwickau, where electric cars are made, expressed concern. He criticized the government for refusing subsidies for electric cars and called for introducing a “price brake”, since all this threatens to cut jobs.

However, according to Scholz, few people buy such cars not just because of government policy. Scholz added that the government has just obliged gas stations to build fast charging stations. And then he admitted that has an old tube TV at home —“an old thing, but it still works perfectly.” Bild journalists hinted that the device is probably as old as Scholz's beloved briefcase.

Scholz explained his choice: every time he looks at a brochure from a store where new TVs are sold, he thinks that these models will be obsolete in a year anyway – and does not buy them.

According to the German Chancellor, today's cars will soon be obsolete, but this shouldn't deter people from buying.

So the Chancellor is promoting electric cars using an argument he doesn't use for his tube TV. Will he now also buy a smart TV? – German journalists sum up.

By the way, the other day Olaf Scholz, during a speech, called support for Ukraine a matter of his country’s historical responsibility . According to him, given history, for Germany in this situation “there can only be one place” – on the side of Ukraine.
