The 118th day of Ukraine's heroic confrontation with the Russian occupiers is underway. Meanwhile, unfortunately, there are still those who are trying to use the conditions of martial law for their own financial gain.

In the Lviv region, the State Border Service exposed a criminal scheme, according to which ordinary expensive goods were imported into the territory of Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid for the purpose of their further sale. This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Civil-Military Administration Maxim Kozitsky and the State Border Guard Service, Channel 24 reports.

Branded “humanitarian” help for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attackers tried to import computer equipment, telephones, branded clothing and women's shoes into the territory of our state. The criminals tried to do this through the Krakovets border checkpoint bordering Poland.

After checking the car, law enforcement officers found 14 pallets and more than 950 boxes with computer equipment and mobile phones, expensive women's shoes and branded clothes, the State Border Guard Service said.

It is noted that all these goods were seized and arrested. The value of the property was estimated at more than 70 million hryvnia. Forensic merchandising examinations are ongoing on the fact of the incident.

By the way, Maxim Kozitsky noted that among the goods that the criminals tried to import under the guise of humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian military, there were, in particular, things and devices of such famous international brands:

  • Apple;
  • Xiaomi;
  • Samsung;
  • Casadei;
  • Vero;
  • Beau Monde;
  • Dior.

Let's add that, trying to import cargo under the guise of humanitarian aid, the criminals resorted to forgery.

Recall that recently the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a large-scale scheme for the theft of military ammunition in the Lviv region. Law enforcement officers seized about 3 thousand bulletproof vests in the amount of about 25 million hryvnia. A resident of the Lviv region, together with accomplices, sold goods that were imported to Ukraine from abroad under the guise of humanitarian aid. The seized body armor will be handed over to the right place – to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
