— The Russians wanted to commit a terrorist attack before 15:00 on May 15. There was a meeting in Istanbul that day, so the enemy wanted to implement their plan before it began.
Denis Yermak, according to the head of the SBU, serves as a sniper in the Main Intelligence Directorate, is a member of the Foreign Legion and takes part in combat operations using drones.
The perpetrator, according to the SBU, was a resident of Kharkov with a technical education. He arrived in Kyiv, rented an apartment, and assembled explosives weighing 2.5 kg.
— For four nights, the perpetrator was only engaged in explosives. During the day, he slept, and at night he began to tinker with everything… We managed to install video and audio surveillance in the apartment, and also gain access to his phone.
According to the investigation, the explosives were to be delivered to Denis Ermak’s place of residence and activated remotely after the perpetrator rang the doorbell.

“This is a classic scheme of use in the dark… If the handlers had heard that the agent had approached the target and the door had been opened for him, the explosives would have been activated immediately,” the head of the SBU emphasized.
Thanks to the timely actions of the Ukrainian special services, the terrorist attack was prevented.
Let us recall that the SBU exposed an FSB intelligence and combat network in Kyiv that was preparing a repeat assassination attempt on Dmitry Gordon.
