The man positioned himself as a military expert. That is how he managed to find out the information.
What information did the agent pass on to the Russians
During investigative and operational actions a deeply conspiratorial Russian agent who collected intelligence on the purchase and supply of foreign weapons and ammunition to Ukraine was detained, the SBU said.
Most of all, the attacker was interested in secret information about imported military equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy should use this information for missile strikes on Ukrainian critical infrastructure facilities that are involved in the transportation of foreign weapons.
The agent’s task was also to disrupt Ukraine’s agreements with international partners on defense assistance.
What a traitor is known
A resident of Kyiv was recruited by a career officer of the Russian special services. The agent was supposed to carry out reconnaissance and subversive activities on the territory of the capital region.
To collect classified information, the man used personal connections among representatives of the military-industrial complex. The attacker pretended to be interested in foreign weapons in order to write “expert” publications on social networks.
During a search of the traitor's house, law enforcement officers found electronic means of communication that he used to communicate with the Russian curator.
