< p>Law enforcement officers detained the rector of one of the churches of the UOC-MP in the Kherson region, who was clandestinely selling weapons and ammunition left after the flight of the Russian occupiers.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
Documented, that the cleric kept enemy arsenals in two caches. One of them — right on the construction site of a new UOC-MP church in Kherson.

It is indicated that SBU officers detained the priest “in hot hands”, gradually documenting an attempt to sell two Igla MANPADS with components. In addition to these MANPADS, the man also offered to purchase ammunition for RPG-7 grenade launchers.
The seller in a cassock estimated the cost of such weapons at 115 thousand hryvnia.
The defendant was looking for clients through his own connections, including in criminal circles.
During an inspection of a cache on the construction site of a new UOC-MP church in Kherson, 5 shots and 2 powder charges for grenade launchers were seized.
The second cache was located in the basement of a nine-story building. There the priest kept:
- a machine gun and a Kalashnikov assault rifle with components;
- 3 F-1 combat grenades;
- almost 7 thousand cartridges for automatic weapons , including large-caliber samples.

The suspect has now been informed of suspicion according to Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention.
The attacker faces up to 7 years in prison.
