On November 1, SBU and State Bureau of Investigation officers carried out investigative actions against accomplices of a people's deputy involved in organizing the illegal travel abroad of men of military age.
He used the controlled public organization Media Defense to bring draft dodgers into the Shlyakh system as volunteers.
Thus, he managed to smuggle his common-law wife’s brother to Moldova.

As part of the proceedings initiated under Part 2 of Art. 15 and part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine), law enforcement officers conduct seven simultaneous searches in the premises of a public organization, its leader and founders, at their places of residence, as well as other persons who took part in the scheme for transporting draft dodgers abroad.
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 7 years.
