Primachenko's paintings were saved under shelling/Ukrainer
On the fourth day of a full-scale war Russian invaders destroyed the museum with paintings by Maria Primachenko. She is a world-famous artist of naive art.
However, later it became known that local residents of Ivankov, in the Kiev region, risking their lives, saved part of the works of a talented Ukrainian artist.
Maria Primachenko created more than a thousand works during her lifetime, including drawings and murals. The name of the artist was included in the World Encyclopedia of Art, and cult artists such as Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall were fond of her work.
The paintings were hidden separately
Natalya Kharitonova , a resident of Ivankovo and deputy director of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity, said that when people realized that invaders had come to their land, they decided to hide the paintings by Maria Primachenko separately in the museum.
Unfortunately, the premonition of the Ivankovites came true. Already on February 25, when they were sitting in shelters due to shelling, one of the shells hit the roof of the museum.
To not wait for what would happen next, because we knew what are the pictures, we ran up here. They pulled out the bars from these two windows, and then the men knocked out these 2 windows and began to take out the exhibits that they could save from there, – said Natalya Kharitonova.
The future of the museum< /h2>
The great-granddaughter of Maria Primachenko Anastasia is engaged in the preservation of her heritage. Supporting the enthusiasm of the inhabitants of Ivankov, she confirmed that the museum, completely destroyed by the Russians, will be rebuilt.
Even now, Anastasia is actively establishing international cooperation, giving permission to reproduce and replicate the works of Maria Primachenko, who were considered forever lost.
Proceeds for this money will be directed to the restoration. Also, the work of the world-famous artist will be presented at the Venice Biennale.
