On December 3, at the age of 87, Leonty Sandulyak died. He was a co-author of the Act of Declaration of State Independence of Ukraine and one of the founders of the People's Movement of Ukraine.
This was reported by Chernivtsi regional council.
“At the age of 87, Leonty Ivanovich Sandulyak, the first Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Romania, co-author of the Act of Proclamation of State Independence of Ukraine, honorary citizen of the city of Chernivtsi, passed away,” the message says.
The National Museum of the History of Ukraine said that the draft Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine on the morning of August 23, 1991 was written by Levko Lukyanenko in collaboration with Leontiy Sandulyak.
