Sandu said that Ukraine has the right to strike at Transnistria

by alex

A deputy from the party of Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that Ukraine remains a threat from Transnistria. Kyiv is also annoyed that it is forced to keep troops near the region.

Oazu Nantoi, a deputy from the ruling party of Moldova “Action and Solidarity”, said in an interview with European Pravda that Kyiv considers Pridnestrovie as a secondary, but a real danger. These discussions began actively after Russia spread a fake that allegedly the Armed Forces of Ukraine were planning to arrange an “armed provocation” in Transnistria.

What the Sandu party says about Transnistria and Ukraine

According to Oaz Nantoi, war is a bloody, cruel and unpredictable business, therefore, there is still a risk of a stab in the back of Ukraine from Transnistria, that is, from the territory of Moldova.

And Ukraine has every right to consider, in particular, a military scenario to prevent a strike from the territory of Moldova,” the politician said.

But he believes that Ukraine will not agree to this, because there is a frank constructive dialogue between Kiev and Chisinau.

“And there is an official position of Moldova that the 'Transnistrian conflict' is not a conflict that needs to be resolved by military means. There are a lot of arguments here,” said the MP from Sandu's party. According to him:

  • Ukraine will not start military operations in Transnistria. After all, there is a dialogue on this topic between Kiev and Chisinau, and the situation at the front is such that this military operation is not needed;
  • although the threat to Ukraine from Transnistria remains, today there are no people on the left bank of the Dniester who want to fight against Ukraine or against Moldova.
