Maia Sandu declared victory in the second round of the presidential elections in Moldova. The incumbent president said that Moldova won.

Moldova, you won! Today, dear Moldovans, you gave a lesson in democracy worthy of being written in history books. Today you saved Moldova! In our choice of a decent future, no one will lose, – Sandu said.

She thanked the Moldovans who came to the polls and voted either for her or for her pro-Russian competitor, Alexandru Stoianoglo. The President of Moldova added that she pledged to be a president for everyone.

In our choice of a decent future, no one will lose. We may have different views, speak different languages, but we all want peace, mutual understanding and a decent life for our children. This is my main goal for Moldova in the coming years. We need to unite society, – Maia Sandu said in Russian.

She also said that Moldova was subjected to an unprecedented attack in the history of all of Europe. After all, there was dirty money, illegal vote buying, interference of criminal groups in the electoral processes, spread of hatred and fear in our society. However, Sandu concluded that the people of the country united and the citizens won.

By the way, 99.32 percent of the ballots have already been processed. According to them, Sandu wins, having gained 55.16% of the votes against 44.84 for Alexandru Stoianoglo.
