In Mali, Tuareg rebels killed dozens of Wagner troops who had come to help the country’s government forces. The Wagner PMCs have finally outlined their version of the events that happened in the Malian deserts.

Of course, the Wagnerites did not admit their loss in Mali, but they told a “heroic story” about “three-man defense and a suicide car.” This is reported by the Russian media, reports 24 Kanal.

What the Wagnerians said about the events in Mali

The Wagnerites reported that from July 22 to 27, 2024, servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces (FAM) and mercenaries of the 13th assault detachment of the Wagner PMC, led by occupier Sergei Shevchenko, call sign “Stavok”, in the vicinity of the settlement of Tin-Zoutin, fought “fierce battles” with militants from “Koor” and the group “Al-Qaeda in the Sahel” (JNIM).

The private military company stated that on the first day, the Wagnerites heroically “destroyed most of the Islamists and forced the rest to flee.” However, things didn't turn out as expected.

According to the Wagner PMC, it was the weather, in particular the sandstorm that had set in, that allegedly allowed the rebels to regroup and “increase their numbers to 1,000 people.” In connection with this, the Wagner command quickly came to its senses and transferred additional forces to the combat zone to assist the 13th assault squad.

Over the next two days, the rebels increased the number of massive attacks, using heavy weapons. According to the Wagnerites, they were attacked with “UAVs and suicide vehicles,” which resulted in losses on the part of the Wagner PMC and FAM soldiers.

The Wagnerites also said that the last radiogram, which was received on July 27, noted that the Russians in Mali were again bravely “defending in three.” And the commander of the 13th assault detachment, Sergei “Stavka” Shevchenko, was eliminated by the Tuaregs.

By the way, earlier Russian Telegram channels reported the murder of at least 20 Wagnerites in Mali. In addition, the Tuaregs could have eliminated the Russian propagandist with the call sign “White,” the author of the GREY ZONE Telegram channel.
