Sanctions against the Russian Federation: Canada blacklisted 11 Russians and 16 companies

Canada imposed sanctions against 11 Russian citizens and 16 legal entities supporting and sponsoring armed aggression in Ukraine.

This was reported on June 13 by the government press service in Ottawa.

This time Ekaterina Mizulina, who holds the post of head of the Safe Internet League, was blacklisted.

Her duties include writing denunciations of bloggers and celebrities whom she suspects of being in opposition to the Kremlin.

In addition, the head of the central executive committee of Putin's United Russia party, Alexander Sidyakin, and the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, were also subject to Canadian sanctions.

Among the legal entities subject to Canadian economic sanctions was a subsidiary of Aeroflot of Russia — LLC Pobeda.

Also “blacklist” have replenished the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, supplying key technologies and electrical components for the operation of the Russian combat vehicle.

Ottawa has also introduced restrictions for Russian propaganda media — regional and international level.

These include:

  • Canal St. Petersburg (also known as GATR);
  • New Media Development Fund;
  • Tavria TV;
  • Mariupol 24;
  • ZaMedia (also known as ZaTV, Za!Radio and Zaporozhye Vestnik);
  • Russian newspaper;
  • Voice of Europe, LLC.
