Ukraine insists on the maximum refusal of partners from Russian oil, but at the same time is a reliable transit country “for all countries that value freedom and the rule of law” and “unconditionally complies with the Association Agreement with the EU”.

This was stated by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Denys Shmyhal against the backdrop of threats by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to stop supplies of diesel fuel to Ukraine if Kiev does not resume the transit of oil from Russian Lukoil.

— The sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine do not pose a threat to the energy security of Slovakia and Europe as a whole, which is why their cancellation is not a subject of discussion. Therefore, we have full understanding from Brussels on this issue, he emphasized.

According to Shmyhal, the threat to Slovakia's energy security is “Russia, its hybrid energy war against the Slovak people, its blackmail and political ultimatums”.

The Prime Minister announced another intergovernmental meeting between Ukraine and Slovakia in October, where he hopes for a “constructive, pragmatic dialogue” between the countries.

Recall that earlier, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that his country intends to stop supplying diesel fuel to Ukraine if Kyiv does not resume oil transit from Russia's Lukoil.
