Samus named two conditions for the implementation of the blockade of Crimea

In order to carry out the deoccupation or blockade of Crimea, the Ukrainian military command needs to conduct planning with the resources that are already in the arsenal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, without waiting for additional help from the West.

This was stated by the deputy director of the Ukrainian Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies Mykhailo Samus.

Deoccupation of Crimea — what is needed

According to him, today only a narrow circle in the Ukrainian military command, possessing information about the availability of weapons and technical resources of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, can formulate such operations.

— Thank God, I don’t know Ukraine’s resources, because very few people know about it. And this is our advantage over the enemy.

Therefore, it is the supreme military command that must formulate the resources that we have, not counting, unfortunately, even on long-range missiles for the F-16, and try to create conditions for air supremacy, — the analyst pointed out.

Samus noted that long-range strikes on Russian-occupied Crimea can be carried out now, and they are being carried out.

At the same time, according to him, two key conditions are necessary for a military blockade of Crimea:

  • destruction of the Kerch Bridge;
  • air superiority in the direction of the Crimean peninsula.

— Then long-range strikes can be stretched out over time. That is, to create a blockade and “iron” Crimea with different instruments. For example, to take out Russian air defense and then use Soviet aviation, or other instruments. But the main thing is to act slowly, — the expert reasons.
