On Wednesday, December 27, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a telephone conversation with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the sale of F-16 multirole fighter jets to Ankara and Sweden's further movement into NATO.

Other topics of discussion between Fidan and Blinken included the latest events in Gaza and the problem of Cyprus.
