Sending North Korean troops to fight Russia in Ukraine would mean a significant escalation, the NATO Secretary General noted.
The participation of North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia would mean “a significant escalation.”
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte wrote about this in X.
According to Rutte, he held a conversation with South Korean President Yun Seok-yul. The Secretary General noted that they discussed the North Atlantic Alliance's partnership with Seoul, defense-industrial cooperation, and security in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions.
“Sending North Korean troops to fight alongside Russia in Ukraine would mean a significant escalation,” Rutte wrote.
Recall that South Korean intelligence reported details about which troops North Korea sent to the war against Ukraine and how they were transported to Russia.
