Russians set up filtration camps in Crimea

Ukrainians are encouraged to leave the occupied territories. But not everyone can do it. And the road itself can be quite dangerous.

Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk called on residents of the occupied Kherson region to leave through the occupied Crimea.

Adviser to the head of the Kherson regional police department and deputy of the Kherson regional council Serhiy Khlan explained the dangers faced by people in the occupied region. According to him, the situation with the departure of Ukrainians to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities is extremely difficult.

“Despite all the danger that is currently in the occupied territory, each person must make this decision himself. Because we all understand that those who now remain in the occupied territory are in a rather difficult financial and humanitarian situation. And leaving the occupied territory is very expensive,” said Serhiy Khlan.

According to him, leaving the occupied Kherson region for one person will cost five thousand hryvnias. This is for those who decide to go towards Vasilyevka in the direction of Zaporozhye.

“But there is no humanitarian border, people leave at their own peril and risk. At the checkpoint, the orcs can demand a bribe – $ 300 per person. They can take personal belongings, not let them in, shoot at them,” Serhiy Khlan said.

” “Filtration” camps in the occupied Crimea

Also, residents of the temporarily occupied Kherson region have the opportunity to leave through Crimea, also under Russian occupation since 2014. But there are no less problems.

“There is a risk of filtration camps that the infidels have set up in Crimea. And they look at a person's connection with the pro-Ukrainian forces, the pro-Ukrainian movement. If it concerns men, then at involvement in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” , – said Sergey Khlan.

In addition, for those who want to get to the territory of Ukraine, but decide to leave through the Crimea, the trip will cost even more. After all, then from the Crimea you will have to go to the mainland of Russia, from there to get to Georgia. And after that, by plane – to one of the European countries. Not everyone can afford such a trip.
