Russians Protest Power Outages: What Could This Lead To?

Russians protest against power outages: what could this develop into? Anzhelika Galesevich

Hundreds of Russians have come out to protest against the power outage. This could develop into local discontent, but there is a nuance here too. Over the past 25 years, Russian citizens have been able to record an appeal at best, like, “Putin, help.”

Former KGB and Russian Foreign Intelligence Service officer Sergei Zhirnov told 24 Channel that the Russian population is counting on the “might” of the dictator. As if he will help solve the issue with a bad mayor or other problems, but they still cannot understand the main reason for these problems.

What actions are Russians not ready for

“If you can get through to Putin in Moscow – call the “direct line” that he holds once a year, or record a video and someone sees it in the Kremlin – then everything will be fine. He will come on a white horse, put everyone in jail, eliminate everyone and solve all the problems,” Zhirnov said.

This shows, in his opinion, that the Russian population is absolutely infantile and is not capable of taking their destiny into their own hands. In addition, he does not understand how government administration works and that, for example, the pipes burst not because of a bad mayor, but because of a bad president.

Accordingly, we need to say something like “Putin, go.” And not even ask, but demand it. If the head of the Kremlin does not go, then declare indefinite strikes. For example, as happened in France in the 1930s. Then the whole country stopped for several weeks and the government finally began to act.

The Russian people are not ready for this, – emphasized Sergei Zhirnov.
