In the besieged Mariupol, the Russians continue to dismantle the rubble. However, the occupiers have finally abandoned the search for the bodies of the dead Ukrainians.
This was told to Channel 24 by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko. Especially massive Russian invaders are now dismantling the rubble in the Left Bank district of the city.
Previously, the Russians were constantly shelling it with Grads and Tornadoes. In the Levoberezhny district, people were actually cut off from the opportunity to evacuate to a part of the city that was safe at that time.
The occupiers finally abandoned the practice of searching for the bodies of the dead, from actually clearing the rubble. In fact, they demolish buildings and, along with the garbage, the bodies of the dead and property are taken to landfills. It's terrible, said the mayor's adviser.
According to Andryushchenko, if earlier the local authorities still hoped to identify the people killed by the Russians after the de-occupation of Mariupol and find out the real number of dead, now it is clear that it will be simply impossible to do this in a landfill.
“How many people died there, who it was – unfortunately, we will never know, probably. This is our great sadness. It hurts a lot,” the mayor's adviser said.
As Andryushchenko said, the epidemiological situation in Mariupol remains critical. The invaders claim that they seem to have everything under control and they cleaned everything up, but the garbage on the streets remains the same.
Little by little they are trying to export it. They found a few garbage trucks left after us. However, this is not enough. Moreover, they are not intended for cleaning the streets, but for collecting garbage from tanks. That is, they are not very helpful in these analyzes, – said the mayor's adviser.
It is also known that the Russians brought trucks of their own cash to Mariupol. They are starting to issue pensions in Russian rubles to pensioners.
“There are insane queues, fights, scandals. That is, not a single process is organized,” the mayor's adviser added.
