Situation at the front: Pentagon's assessment
As Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said at a briefing, despite great efforts, the Russians have been able to make little progress in northern Donbass. He stressed that this is clearly not what the Russian infidels were counting on not only in the war, but also in the offensive operation in this direction.
In Donbass, we would still assessed that the Ukrainians put up very tough resistance. And that the Russians have not made the progress we think they expected to make by then. That doesn't mean they haven't made any progress at all,” Kirby said.
