The Russian military continues to terrorize Ukrainians on a daily basis. As noted in the intelligence of Britain, the reason for the insane losses among the civilian population was the tactics of enemy strikes.
The department began its analysis with statistical data. British intelligence cited the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Almost 20,000 victims in a year
As of February 13, 2023, it reported 18,955 civilian casualties in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. We are talking about 7,199 killed and 11,756 wounded. The department noted that 697 civilian casualties were counted in January 2023.
Moreover, the Department suggests that the actual numbers can be significantly higher. For example, another analysis shows that the occupierscould have killed more than 16,000 civilians in Ukraine.
Also, the data for January 2023 shows that the occupiers continue to carry out terror along the entire front line. We remind you that it reaches 1200 kilometers. At the same time, Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporozhye regions are taking the main blows.
Intelligence emphasized that during January 2023 there was a very high intensity of strikes and a tendency to hit both medical institutions, and educational.Such attacks, as well as subsequent civilian casualties, demonstrate that the enemy continues to open fire with artillery and other systems available to him.
That is, instead of artillery doing its direct job – fire support for ground units in the offensive or in defense – they hit the civilian population with it. Such strikes are indiscriminate and are the cause of such destruction and so many casualties.
Note that Ukraine continues to receive more and more weapons, which should hasten our victory. Therefore, we hope that soon we will be able to stop the terror of the civilian population by the occupiers.
