Ukraine has been conducting an operation in the Kursk region for 10 days. The first Ukrainian military commandant's office has already been created there, and the locals are seriously surprised and disappointed by the actions of their authorities.

The host of24 Kanal Andriana Kucher said that the residents of Kursk region are mostly hiding in basements. It is difficult to communicate with them, however, they are cautious about making contact with the Ukrainian military.

Our soldiers say that the civilian population is very scared now. They are reluctant to communicate, hiding in basements. On the Ukrainian side, they are treated in accordance with all the norms.

People are very disappointed with the actions of the local authorities, because they abandoned them. Moreover, as our fighters say, the Russian army, the military who fled from the Kursk region, simultaneously robbed the local population, took away cars and other property, – said Andriana Kucher.

Ukrainian defenders shared that the local population is quite cautious, sometimes neutral, but generally without any piety speaks about the Russian army. On the contrary, they express a number of complaints, complain, are indignant at such actions and feel completely abandoned.

“Also, one of the fighters said that all those civilians with whom he had to communicate spoke to him exclusively in Ukrainian. He joked that now we have come to protect the Ukrainian-speaking population on the territory of Russia,” added Andriana Kucher.
