In Volchansk, the TSN and 1+1 Marathon film crew, including journalist Alexander Motorny and cameraman Pavel Borisko, came under Russian fire.

Journalists came under fire in Volchansk

The incident occurred on the morning of February 4 during the filming of a story about the work of Ukrainian UAV operators at positions near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.

As a result of the shelling, the operator received multiple shrapnel wounds and a broken leg. Now Pavel is being carefully examined by doctors and is receiving all the necessary assistance.

— At some point, artillery shelling began around. The guys said that there would most likely be an assault. They received the order to take off. The guys flew — Pasha and I filmed the first launch, — Alexander Motorny told.

Pavel Borisko was filming the launch of the next drone and was next to a crew member. At that moment, they were attacked by an enemy drone.

— At first I thought that artillery had arrived. 30 seconds later we ran out into the street — I saw Pavel near the cache. I immediately ran up to him — he was lying wounded, covered in blood. The second guy — the one equipping, was even more injured. Pavel's leg is broken. The crew commander ran up, tightened the tourniquet as required. They stabilized the leg with a splint, — Alexander Motorny recalled.

Luckily, the wounded were quickly evacuated from the position.

Attacks on journalists in combat conditions are international war crimes.

According to the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russians have killed at least 18 journalists while performing their professional duties. Another nine fell victim to rocket attacks.
