“Russians are in for a difficult period”: why the defeat of the Russian command center in Kursk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces is important Melania Golembyovskaya

On January 31, missile and artillery units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the command post of the Kursk group of troops in Rylsk, in the Kursk region. As a result of the destruction of the post, the Russians will be completely disoriented for some time.

The occupiers will need time to restore coordination of offensive actions, and it is almost impossible to restore personnel. General of the Army, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Nikolai Malomuzh told Channel 24 about this, noting that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use the success for their own offensives.

Consequences of the defeat of the Russian command center

The Army General noted that Ukraine has already moved on to strikes deep into the enemy's rear, destroying military infrastructure facilities, launchers, oil refineries and airfields.

The most important thing in the frontline zone is the ability of the Defense Forces to destroy tactical and strategic command posts of the Russians who are planning offensive operations.

The destruction of a command post of this level disrupts the work of the entire frontline network – this is 65 thousand different units that are now in the offensive mode, – Malomuzh emphasized.

This refers to all units that work with missile systems, artillery, armored vehicles and aviation. After all, the entire structure that was responsible for giving orders, monitoring their implementation and coordinating the actions of the occupiers was located in this command post.

If the coordination of offensive operations was neutralized for several days, then it is practically impossible to restore personnel in the near future. The Russians will need to replace both the senior command staff, the middle management, and the operators who organized the work directly at headquarters, the army general explained.

Malomuzh added that the Ukrainian military could also use the strike for an offensive, since the enemy would not be able to quickly and efficiently organize its work.

By the way, the Institute for the Study of War reported that the Ukrainian military advanced along Novoselovka Street in the northwestern part of the village of Pogrebki, which is located northwest of Sudzha. Russian propagandists claimed that the Russian occupiers were making successful advances, but analysts refuted this information.
