- April 21, Shoigu reported Putin that Russia “liberated”, that is, captured Mariupol. Vladimir Zelensky denied this. So, the Russians really occupied most of the city, there were still territories defending the Ukrainian troops.
- In social networks, Russia's main Tiktoker Ramzan Kadyrov boasted that his militants “took Mariupol.” In response, the adviser to the mayor of the city, Petr Andryushchenko, showed a video of the unoccupied Azovstal and the territories adjacent to it. It testifies that fighting is still going on even outside the plant.
