The Russians have not attacked Ukraine with Iranian drones in recent weeks. Experts suggest that the invaders are simply afraid of our weapons, because the last attacks were unsuccessful. Why Russia is not launching “Shahids” now – read the assumptions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the article.
Why the Russians do not use drones
ThisChannel 24 was told by Yury Ignat, the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Analysts suggest that the Russians are running out of a second batch of Iranian drones. Ignat replied that there is no exact data, but it is noticeable that at present the occupiers do not use them.
According to him, the Russians have not used Shahids for attacks for about a month:
- on New Year's Eve, the invaders launched 45 drones,
- on the night of January 2, 39 Iranian UAVs
- and already on January 16, there were 24 drones.
Of these three attacks, all 100 percent of the drones were shot down. And the enemy did not use them again in any of the directions. This suggests that the Russians have saved some part or are waiting for the next batch,” Ignat said.
He added that there is some information that Russia intends to build a plant for the production drones on their territory somewhere in the interior of the country.
“The Russians want to establish the production of Iranian drones, this is another threat, because the governments of these countries do not refuse their plans for further cooperation,” said the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What weapons are the invaders afraid of against drones
In his opinion, the German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns are among the most effective in this.
Gepard has a powerful radar and an automated system that detects targets and destroys them effectively. But here the question is different – Gepard has a range of hitting a target of only a few kilometers, and Shahids can have different routes, so it is difficult to cover the entire territory from an attack, – Ignat explained.
He noted that to cover critical infrastructure facilities with the same Gepard installations and the French Caesar self-propelled guns. They work effectively against these UAVs.
“The basis against drones is anti-aircraft missile systems, including BUKs, S-300. Shahids also shoot down mobile fire groups, although it's difficult because drones usually start at night,” Ignat added.
The speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that all effective means are used to shoot down drones, even fighter aircraft, if possible . “But we need modern fighters that will 100% shoot down UAVs,” he said.
Let's note that even nature continues to help Ukraine protect itself from Russian infidels. So, on February 6, the storm increased significantly in the Black Sea, so Russia was forced to withdraw almost all of its own. ship grouping from the Black Sea. Also because of this weatherthe enemy is unlikely to use kamikaze drones.
