The representative of the OSGV Khortitsa Viktor Tregubov reported on fighting in the urban area of Chasovy Yar in Donetsk region. However, he noted that no military clashes were recorded on December 26.

According to Tregubov, fighting continues in the urban areas of Chasovy Yar, but specifically today, since the morning of the previous day, there have been no military clashes in the city.

The Importance of Chasovy Yar for the Russian Federation
The speaker explained that the city is important for the occupiers because of its elevated location. It allows them to control the road towards the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, which makes it one of the main directions for the enemy.
According to Tregubov, the settlement is actually a commanding height. This allows the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hold positions and inflict significant losses on Russian troops.
— This week, in general, the main battles are taking place along the Seversky Donets Canal — Donbass. And we note that one of the main targets of the enemy in the territory of Chasovy Yar is the refractory materials plant. The enemy is constantly trying to infiltrate there, now Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting defeats there and repelling attacks, — he added.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Luhansk OTG Anastasia Bobovnikova explained why there were reports of the occupiers advancing to the center of Chasovy Yar. According to her, this happened because the enemy is sending personnel forward: whoever ran — made it, whoever didn't — and so it will be. That is, this is not even reconnaissance in force, this is reconnaissance with meat.
