Russian Tu-95s left “without work”: what the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit at “Engels” Melania Golembyovskaya

On January 14, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the infrastructure of the Russian military airfield “Engels-2” for the second time. For the Russians, it is perhaps the most important airfield, where the occupiers are preparing missile attacks on Ukraine.

The head of security programs at the Center for Globalistics “Strategy XXI” Pavel Lakiychuk told Channel 24 about this, noting that this base has not only fuel, but also missiles. It is important that “Engels-2” belongs to the nuclear triad of Russian strategic aviation.

What was hit at “Engels”

There is a missile and technical base at Engels where nuclear warheads are stored, missile warehouses, a tactical missile base where the Russians prepare missiles and aircraft for attacks on Ukraine.

Tu-95s fly to Engels-2 specifically to receive missiles and refuel. Then they fly on to attack Ukraine. If there are no missiles and fuel, they have nothing to do, Lakiychuk emphasized.

He noted that the comprehensive strikes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on this airfield will not completely stop Russian attacks on our country, but will significantly complicate them.

According to the head of security programs, as a result of the strike, three tanks with fuel for the Tu-160 caught fire, one of them can hold 10 thousand liters.

The Engels-2 airfield is not just a military airfield, but the main airfield of Russia's strategic aviation of the nuclear triad for waging a nuclear war against the West. There are only two such airfields, and one more is in the Far East.

“This airbase has everything to wage war, even if the European part of Russia is covered in nuclear ash. There are fuel and lubricant depots here of such a scale that the planes could fly and bomb cities for another week, even if Russia no longer existed,” he emphasized.

By the way, retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pilot-instructor, military expert Roman Svitan noted that there are karst caves located near “Engels”, where hundreds of thousands of tons of aviation kerosene are stored. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike there, the entire airfield will simply “take off”, and the fuel will burn out for a long time, up to 4 months.
