GPS jamming site GPSJAM recorded high levels of jamming in the southern Baltic Sea and northwestern and central Poland December 25-27, 2023 and January 10, 2024 .
“An unprecedentedly high level of GPS jamming” was seen in northern and eastern Poland, particularly in Warsaw and south of Lodz, 16 January 2024.
Polish journalists suggested that the December disruptions could have resulted from unannounced NATO military exercises in the Baltic region or tests of Russian electronic warfare systems.

Russian media have been reporting since mid-December 2023 about the exercises of units of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation with the Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system in the Kaliningrad region.
6 January, Swedish Lieutenant Colonel Joakim Paasikivi said that failures in GPS operation are the result of the “influence of the Russian Federation or the so-called hybrid war”, and also recalled that Russia has interfered in the work before GPS in northern Europe to hide their activity in the Murmansk region or disrupt NATO exercises.
January 12 The Swedish Military Intelligence and Security Service even opened a case regarding GPS failures against the backdrop of Russian Baltic Fleet exercises using electronic warfare systems.
