Two Russian agents of the Russian military intelligence (better known as the GRU) planned a bloody terrorist attack in Kyiv. During the special operation, they were detained by SBU and National Police officers.
SBU prevents terrorist attack in Kyiv
According to the special service, they were supposed to prepare homemade explosives and detonate them in one of the crowded places in Kyiv, causing the maximum number of casualties among the civilian population in order to spread panic.
To commit the terrorist attack, Russian intelligence remotely recruited a 20-year-old resident of Zaporozhye, who was looking for easy money in Telegram channels.

She received instructions from the occupiers on how to make an explosive device from improvised materials components.
The attacker used two mobile phones to which a detonator with plastic explosives, which was in a camouflaged cache, had to be connected. Its geolocation was supposed to be sent to her the day before the terrorist attack.
The agent's actions were supervised by a career GRU officer who was in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhia region.
The traitor recruited her 26-year-old cohabitant to cooperate with the enemy.
Before committing the terrorist attack, they had to complete a so-called control mission: set fire to several units of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region.

The SBU counterintelligence detained both of them when they tried to set fire to an infantry fighting vehicle that was carrying out missions on the southern front. The crime weapon and phones with evidence of subversive activity in in favor of the Russian Federation.
The defendants have been charged under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law).
They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property, they are currently in custody.
