Donald Trump confirmed that he does not see the possibility for Ukraine to be a member of NATO. The American leader explained his words by “the position that Russia found itself in.”

What Trump said about Ukraine's membership in NATO

Donald Trump told reporters that he still supports the words of his Secretary of Defense about the absence of Ukraine's membership in NATO as part of a diplomatic settlement of the war.

The American president noted that the fact that Ukraine was allegedly given hope for joining NATO “was the reason the war started,” referring to Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. In particular, Trump blamed the country's former president Joe Biden for this.

By the way, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, in response to his American counterpart's statement about the impossibility of our country's membership in NATO, said that our country wants to be in the Alliance and will be there. He also stressed that the Ukrainian government will make any conclusions regarding joining the North Atlantic Alliance together with our people.
