Russia will increase its dependence on nuclear weapons. All because of significant losses in the war against Ukraine.
US intelligence, in its annual threat assessment report, said that Moscow has increased its reliance on nuclear weapons.
What did American intelligence say?
The report says that due to heavy losses on the battlefield in Ukraine, “deteriorated Moscow's ground and air capabilities in the field of conventional weapons and increased its dependence on nuclear weapons.”
In addition, the aggressor country remains the main cyber threat.
While its war-related cyber activity has fallen short of the pace and influence we expected, Russia will remain a major cyber threat as it refines and leverages its espionage, influence and attack capabilities, the U.S. intelligence added.
Russia is developing a new type of military operation using nuclear weapons
The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that their military specialists are developing an operation of the strategic deterrence forces. It provides for the use of “modern strategic offensive and defensive, nuclear and non-nuclear weapons, taking into account the latest military technologies” to protect against the “aggressive vector of US foreign policy.”
Russia withdrew from DSNO
- On February 21, Putin announced that Russia was suspending participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START). The dictator signed the relevant law on February 28, then the note was handed over to the United States.
