The US President assured that Russia will not win this conflict.
US President Joe Biden announced a loan to Ukraine as part of the G7 package in the amount of $ 20 billion, which will be repaid through interest received from frozen Russian sovereign assets.
This is stated in a statement, the text of which was published on the official website of the White House on Wednesday, October 23.
“Ukraine can get the help it needs now without burdening [American] taxpayers. These loans will support the people of Ukraine as they defend and rebuild their country. And our efforts send a message: tyrants will be held accountable for the damage they cause,” Biden said.
The American president recalled that this summer he led the G7 effort to allocate $50 billion in extraordinary loans to Ukraine to accelerate revenues secured by revenues from Russian assets that were frozen after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine until the Russian Federation ceases its aggression and pays for the damage caused Ukraine.
“Russia will not win this conflict. The people of Ukraine will win. This is another reminder to Vladimir Putin that the world is united behind Ukraine, and the United States and our G7 partners will continue to support them every step of the way,” Joe Biden emphasized.
Recall that earlier, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced a $400 million military aid package to Ukraine at a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev.
