For Russia, May 9 has long been a day of saber-rattling in Moscow, which is called a parade. Many foreign leaders were usually invited to it, some of whom came to Russia. But this year everything has changed.
The fact that none of the foreign leaders were supposedly invited to Moscow, said the mouthpiece of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov. He is actively quoted by the Russian media, Channel 24 reports.
The parade will take place even without Lukashenka
The Kremlin does not want to admit that no world leader of his own free will would have come to the parade in the country that unleashed the largest war since the Second World War. Peskov says that Russia seems to have decided itself not to invite anyone, because “the date is not an anniversary.”
The fact is that this is not an anniversary date. This is our holiday, holy for all of Russia, for all Russians. But we did not invite foreign leaders,” Peskov said.
But it is really surprising that no one will show at the parade where the attack on Belarus was prepared from: the Kremlin did not invite even almost the only ally – the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
This May 9 is “special”
- Every year on May 9, the Russians organized a literally enchanting holiday in honor of the “victory over Nazism.” Instead of the slogans “Never again!”, the Russians used “We can do it again!”. This day is perhaps the biggest holiday for Russians, where annually Putin is celebrated with cynicism, belittling the achievements of other peoples in the fight against the Nazis.
- But this year, the celebration of May 9 will be completely different. For example, in Latvia, instead of Victory Day, there will be a day of mourning for all Ukrainians who died in the war with Russia.
- In Israel, the traditional parade of veterans has been canceled. Also, the parade will not be held by Kazakhstan. What can I say, even in the quasi-republic of Transnistria there will be no parade this year.
- However, it should be noted that, according to intelligence, in the temporarily occupied territories, Russians kidnap men of military age. They can be used on May 9 as “prisoners of war”.
